Der tote Wald - Lonske Düne. 1934.
Watercolor.
Lower right signed and dated. On Fabriano wove paper (with watermark). 59 x 84 cm (23.2 x 33 in), the full sheet.

• Created in the summer in Leba.
• The motif shows the dead forest after the Lontzke dune has buried the forest and released it again.
• Atmospherically exciting watercolor.
The work is registered in the Max Pechstein Archive.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Lower Saxony (since 2016).
LITERATURE: Van Ham, Cologne, auction on June 2, 2016, lot 57.
In good condition. Small scuffmarks in edges. Small rubbed spots and minimal creasemarks, predominantly in the upper margin.
