• One of the most important pioneers of modern art in Germany.
• Adolf Hölzel achieves a form of abstraction that also makes use of figurative motifs.
• Other works by the artist are held, among others, at the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main; the Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation, Vienna; and the Sprengel Museum, Hanover.
PROVENANCE: Galerie Döbele, Stuttgart.
Private collection, Saxony (acquired from the above in 1999).
In good condition. Three of the corners have small traces of glue on the verso, with minimal show-through to the recto. There is a tiny crease in the lower left corner.
