Georg Baselitz
1938 - 2026
Ohne Titel. 2006.
Pen and India ink and ink pen drawing.
Signed and dated "6. VII 2006". On laid paper. 32.5 x 25.2 cm (12.7 x 9.9 in), the full sheet. [KA].
• A characteristic, upside-down motif by the recently deceased master.
• A masterful fusion of spontaneous drawing and painterly virtuosity.
• Offered on the international auction market for the first time (source: artprice.com).
• Georg Baselitz is regarded as one of the most important figures of contemporary German art.
PROVENANCE: Private collection, Lower Saxony.
In good condition. The sheet is slightly discolored, the upper edge is somewhat irregular due to two small pieces of adhesive tape residue on the reverse side and a spot of ink, also on the reverse side. The upper and right edges of the sheet are slightly irregularly trimmed. There is a faint crease in both the upper-right and lower-left corner.
