Liegende Frauenakte (4 Blatt). 1943/44.
India ink drawings with charcoal (4).
Each monogrammed and dated. On laid paper. Up to 32.2 x 35.8 cm (12.6 x 14 in), size of sheet. [KA].
• Expressive drawings in Jean Fautrier's unmistakable style.
• Created in the 1940s, during his decisive phase between war experience and artistic reinvention.
• Fautrier is considered one of the early protagonists of Informalism.
We are grateful to Dominique Fautrier, son of the artist, for his kind expert advice.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Günther Förg.
In good condition. The sheets are slightly irregularly trimmed. Some sheets have isolated, tiny tears and paper losses, expertly restored. On the reverse, there are small residues of a previous mounting in the corners of the sheets, minimally showing through on the recto.
