• In 1949, Pechstein spent the summer months in Ückeritz on the penninsula of Usedom, where the hay harvest inspired him to create a small series of paintings.
• In 1952, the artist translated this large-format composition in clear, bold colors into a painting (“Harvest,” Soika 1952/10).
• Continuous provenance
.

PROVENANCE: The artist's estate (with the stamp on the backing cardboard).
Private collection, Germany (acquired from the above in 1982).
In family ownership since.

Large-format composition with intense colors, and in very good condition. Small pinholes in the corners of the sheet, resulting from the making. Isolated, very faint signs of rubbing, only visible in strong grazing light. The sheet is mounted on a backing cardboard.
