• Gustav Kluge is an artist of expressive figuration in the tradition of Francis Bacon or Eugène Leroy.
• In 2008 Gustav Kluge received the Käthe Kollwitz Prize.
• In 2012, his work was shown in a major retrospective at the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum in Ludwigshafen.
