• With their new figurative art, Wintersberger and his colleagues Lüpertz, Hödicke, and Koberling—members of the “Großgörschen 35” artists’ gallery—rebelled against the informal painting style that dominated the art scene at the time and had a decisive influence on West German art well into the 1980s.
• Clear provenance: Inherited directly from the artist’s estate.
• Large work brimming with expressive power.
• His works are in international collections such as the Centraal Museum in Utrecht, the Städel Museum in Frankfurt, and the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney.
