• Expressive use of color in the artist’s characteristic broad and rapid brushstrokes.
• Karl Horst Hödicke is regarded as a pioneer of German Neo-Expressionism and an important representative of New Figuration.
• In 1990, the artist was represented at the Venice Biennale.
• Offered on the international auction market for the first time (Source: artprice.com).
PROVENANCE: Galerie Karl Pfefferle, Munich.
Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia (acquired from the above in 2008).
In good condition, with vibrant colors. There is some light rubbing, particularly in the corners of the image. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
