Signed, dated, and titled in the lower right. Signed, dated, and titled again on the reverse. On wove paper. 76.5 x 58.5 cm (30.1 x 23 in), size of sheet. [KA].
• James Ensor is considered the leading representative of Belgian Symbolism.
• In the year of its creation, the artist set up his first studio in Ostend and had his first exhibition the following year.

In good condition. The sheet is minimally browned. Minimal paper loss in the two right corners of the sheet, expertly restored at the top. A tiny hole in each of the two left corners of the sheet due to previous mounting.
