Schwarze Strukturen in Orange. 1981.
Mixed media on canvas.
Signed, dated and titled on the reverse, with fragments of a label on the center beam. 160 x 125 cm (62.9 x 49.2 in).
• Thieler is considered one of the most important German painters of Informalism.
• Explosive color spectacle from Thieler's later creative phase. Color becomes an important dialogue partner.
• The impressive composition makes the dynamic progression of color visible.
• In the 1950s and 1960s, Thieler participated as an important artist of Abstract Expressionism in documenta II in Kassel and the Venice Biennale.
