Entwurfszeichnungen (6 Bll.). Um 1909-1911.
Pencil drawings with India ink (5) and ink and pen drawing (1).
Each monogrammed (3, of which 2 with embossing stamp) and dated (3). On laid paper (1) and wove paper (5), each mounted on sketchbook paper (4) and laid on firm vardboard (1). Up to 64.5 x 49 cm (25.3 x 19.2 in), size of sheet. [KA].
• Beautiful designs from Max Klinger's highly regarded ex-libris work.
• His themes range from antiquity and mythology to sensual physicality.
• His contemporaries regarded Klinger as the “German Michelangelo”.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Günther Förg.
In good condition. The sheets are slightly creased and irregularly cut, with a few brown spots. One of the sheets is slightly browned.
