Signed and dated on the reverse of one of the panels. Left panel: 97.2 x 24.4 cm (38.2 x 9.6 in). Right panel: 101,2 x 25,2 cm (39,76 x 9,84 in).


• Impressive combination of nature and construction as central themes in the artist's oeuvre.
• From the mid-1980s, wood has been Jiri Hilmar's preferred material.
• The reduced formal language a monumental effect.
• Just one year earlier, he received the Ruhr Area Art Prize.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia (since 1992, directly from the artist).
