Felix Droese
1950
Ohne Titel. Um 1990.
Mixed media on cardboard.
140 x 100 cm (55.1 x 39.3 in), size of sheet. [JS].
• Symbolism and spontaneity in large format: Droese studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under Peter Brüning and Josef Beuys in the 1970s.
• Droese's art addresses issues of money, social power relations, and political structures.
PROVENANCE: Galerie Zwirner, Cologne.
Private collection, Rhineland (acquired from the above in 1989).
In good condition. The large sheet of paper is partly creased due to technical reasons and has slight signs of compression and pressure marks. It is firmly mounted on backing cardboard with staples at the top and bottom edges. There are a few tiny holes near the edges caused by mounting.
