Asger Jorn
1914 - 1973
Ohne Titel. 1968.
Décollage, mounted on black cardboard.
Signed and dated in the lower right. With the estate stamp on the reverse. 61.8 x 55.5 cm (24.3 x 21.8 in). [KA].

• Spontaneous artistic virtuosity meets the raw materiality of the “décollage.”
• Tearing the paper away layer by layer, Asger Jorn reveals an imaginative motif that straddles the line between abstraction and figuration.
• “Spontaneity and expressiveness”: the stated goal of the “CoBrA” artist group, which Jorn co-founded in 1948.
• Created in the 1960s, when the artist was intensively exploring the “décollage” technique
.

The work is registered in the Jorn Archive, Silkeborg (Museum Jorn). We are grateful for the kind assistance.
