Porträt Frau L.A. 1925.
Oil on canvas.
Signed lower right. Signed, dated, and titled on the reverse of the stretcher, and inscribed “Berlin.”. 90 x 70 cm (35.4 x 27.5 in). [AW].
Full proceeds will go to the Pohlen-Bautz-Holzherr-Foundation.
• At the beginning of the 1920s, Bruno Krauskopf's painting style underwent a change—his palette became fresher and more vibrant.
• Member of the Berlin Secession and the November Group.
• Krauskopf's art was considered degenerate under National Socialism, he exiled in Norway and the USA.
PROVENANCE: Artist's estate (verso stamped several times with the estate stamp).

Collection of Prof. Dr. Manfred Pohlen and Dr. Margarethe Bautz-Holzherr, Marburg (since 2014, Dr. Irene Lehr Kunstauktionen.
LITERATURE: Hauswedell & Nolte, Nov. 26, 1996, lot 268.
In good condition. The edges of the image are rubbed in places. Craquelure in places. Occasional small, expertly executed retouching. The condition report was prepared in daylight and with the aid of a UV light source to the best of our knowledge and belief.
