Signed and dated in the lower left. On sturdy, brownish Japan paper. 19.5 x 28 cm (7.6 x 11 in), size of sheet.

• The delicate line work in ink is a masterful testament to Feininger’s characteristic architectural-prismatic compositional structure.
• Feininger’s crystalline seascapes enjoy consistently high popularity on the international auction market.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Southern Germany (1970, Karl & Faber).

LITERATURE: Karl & Faber, Munich, Auction 123, June 11, 1970, lot 679 (with ill.).

Good overall condition. With mount staining. Two old mounting spots visible in the upper corners of the sheet, bleeding through to the recto. The paper is smooth and free of tears.
