• Self-taught master of naivety: Gaston Chaissac.
• Fascinating, unique expression of form and spontaneity.
• 1985-1986 Part of the traveling exhibition “Chaissac. Tableaux, collages, gouaches, objets, dessins.”
• Part of an important private collection in Berlin for over 35 years.
PROVENANCE: Galerie Limmer, Freiburg (verso with label).
Private collection, Berlin (acquired from the above in 1988).
EXHIBITION: Chaissac. Paintings, collages, gouaches, objects, drawings, Musée d'Unterlinden, Colmar, June 15–October 6, 1985; Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Martigny, February 7–April 8, 1986; Ulmer Museum, June 8–July 13, 1986, cat. no. 42 (verso with label and stamp).
In good condition. Fine craquelure in places, expertly restored at the edges. Minimal partial rubbing and studio marks. The condition report was prepared in daylight and with the aid of a UV light source to the best of our knowledge and belief.
