Signed and dated in the lower center. 40 x 30 cm (15.7 x 11.8 in). [AW].
• A dynamic and vibrant work by one of the most important representatives of German Informel.
• In 2016, this work was part of the exhibition “Emil Schumacher - Boscone - Faszination Baum” at the Emil Schumacher Museum, Hagen.
• Participated in documenta II, III, and 6 in Kassel in 1959, 1964, and 1977.
• Schumacher’s works are held by institutions including the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
The work is registered in the archive of the Emil Schumacher Foundation, Hagen, established by Dr. Ulrich Schumacher, under the inventory number “0/3.869.”.
PROVENANCE: Galerie Hans Strelow, Düsseldorf (with the gallery label on the back of the frame).
Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia (acquired from the above in 2013).

In good condition, with vibrant colors. There is some slight craquelure in the glossy black areas. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
