• A monumental seascape in vivid colors, rendered with energetic, impasto brushwork.
Bernd Zimmer is a key representative of the “Junge Wilde” (Young Wild Ones) and was featured in the major retrospective exhibition at the Städel Museum in Frankfurt am Main in 2015.
• The artist’s paintings are held in major museum collections, including the Berlinische Galerie, Berlin; the Kunsthalle Bremen; the Busch-Reisinger Museum / Harvard Art Museums, Cambridge; the Groninger Museum; and the Museum Folkwang, Essen
.

The work is listed on the artist’s website under the catalog number “WV 652.”.

In good condition with vibrant colors. Slight craquelure in places in the areas with thick paint. Each corner of the painting has a small chip of paint. A few small brown spots, more numerous in the upper central part of the painting. Slightly soiled in places in the lower part of the painting. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the aid of a UV light source, and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
