Wrapped Reichstag (Project for Berlin). Ca. 1995.
Mixed media. Colored oil pastels, felt-tip pen, and pencil; photography; fabric and cardboard; partially collaged onto cardboard and mounted on wood. Originally mounted on a stretcher frame and encased under plexiglas.
Signed and dated in center right, with the title written within the image. Labeled on the reverse and accompanied by two additional cloth samples. 28.7 x 22.1 x 3.5 cm (11.2 x 8.7 x 1.3 in), incl. plexiglass case. [AH].
• Wrapped Reichstag: One of Christo’s most spectacular and iconic project.
• The legendary and monumental Christo motif of the wrapped Reichstag in a small format.
• Idea and concept: featuring a sample of the aluminum-coated polypropylene fabric used for Christo’s wrapping of the Reichstag.
• In 2023, works by the artist couple Christo and Jeanne-Claude were part of the 25th-anniversary exhibition at MUCA Munich, which houses one of Europe’s most significant collections of urban art.
• To mark the 30th anniversary of the iconic art project, artist and lighting designer Andreas Boehlke will once again wrap the Reichstag in homage to Christo.
The work is registered in the archive of the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation, New York.

In very good condition. A few minor marks from the studio and signs of wear resulting from the manufacturing process. Framing with minimal signs of wear on the Plexiglas, visible only when viewed under oblique light, which do not adversely affect the work. The corners of the Plexiglas are reinforced with tape.
