Lower right monogrammed and dated. On Ingres d'Arches MBM laid paper (with the watermark). 64.5 x 99.5 cm (25.3 x 39.1 in), the full sheet. [KA].
• Gestural abstraction with playful lightness.
• Kirkeby's art draws its inspiration from nature and conveys atmospherically condensed impressions of landscapes.
• Participation in the Venice Biennale in 1980 and 1992.
• Solo exhibitions at Museum Ludwig, Cologne; Tate Modern, London; Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf; Museum Küppersmühle, Duisburg; and Museum Insel Hombroich, among others.
PROVENANCE: Private collection, Frankfurt am Main (family-owned ever since).
In good condition. The sheet is slightly wavy. There are a few tiny handling marks on the edges. There is a slight crease in the lower right corner of the sheet.
