Fischer am Meer. 1920.
Brush and India ink and graphite.
Lower right signed and dated. With a garely legible inscription and with an illegible round stamp on the reverse. On brownish cardboard. 52.5 x 76 cm (20.6 x 29.9 in), the full sheet.

• Pechstein succeeded in creating incomparably expressive, concentrated compositions between painting and graphic art with a lively expression.
• Fishermen are one of the most characteristic motifs in Pechstein's oeuvre.
• Throughout his life, the artist spent the summer months on his beloved Baltic coast.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Northern Germany (acquired around 1996).
Good overall impression. With a few tears in the margins, isolated losses spots of browning caused by moisture and paper defects. The sheet with a few small brown spots. In the center of the sheet with a vertical smoothed crease. The condition report was compiled to the best of our knowledge and belief.
