Gouache, fire and smoke.
Signed and dated in the lower right, as well as titled in the lower left. On cardboard. 48 x 68 cm (18.8 x 26.7 in), the full sheet. [KA].
- The combination of fire and smoke makes for this marevlous example of a typical Piene "Fire Gouache“.
- Perfectly balanced interplay of intense colors, composition and texture.
- Right after this work was created in 1977, Piene participated in Documenta 6 in Kassel.
- Otto Piene was a key protagonist of the ZERO group.
