Stehender Akt mit Holzfigur. Um 1915/16.
Pen and India ink drawing over pencil.
On paper, laid on cardboard. 21 x 14.7 cm (8.2 x 5.7 in), size of sheet.

• From the sought-after Berlin days.
• Kirchner found his female (nude) models in Berlin's nightlife .
• The dynamic, spontaneous drawing is an expression of Kirchner's profound interest in human anatomy, posture and movement.
• The "Brücke" artists described the depiction of people, and the nude in particular, as "the basis of all visual art".
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp Lugt 6032).
