Säule 20/71. 1971.
Stainless steel.
On the lower side of the stele with the engraved signature and the designation “S 20/71”. 125 cm (49.2 in).

• A unique piece.
• Statics, dynamics, and balance merge into a floating entity.
• Exhibited at documenta 3, 4, and 6.
• In 1969, the Grand Prize at the Sao Paolo Biennial earned Erich Hauser international recognition.

PROVENANCE: Private collection, Bavaria.

LITERATURE: Späth, Lothar (ed.) Kunststiftung Erich Hauser, Erich Hauser. Catalogue raisonné 1960 - 2000, Rottweil 2000, vol. II, p. 63 (illustrated) and. p. 276 (each with erroneous dimensions).

In good condition. With a small spot of corrosion in the upper corner of the stele. Isolated rubbed spots.
