Signed in the lower left corner. Inscribed “391” in pencil in the lower right corner, likely by another hand. On heavy Fabriano wove paper (with the watermark). 69.4 x 50 cm (27.3 x 19.6 in), the full sheet. [KA].

• A luminous, vibrant composition executed in an expressive style with dynamic brushwork.
• A charming combination of watercolor and gouache techniques in the artist’s unique style.
• Works by Schmidt-Rottluff from the late 1930s are held in major museum collections, including the Hamburger Kunsthalle and the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main.

In fine condition, with vibrant colors. The lower margin of the sheet is slightly discolored. There is a slight, superficial tear in the paper in the lower left corner, as well as a small discoloration in the upper left margin caused during production.
