Signed and dated “05”. Verse with the stamp of the Kunstmuseum Basel estate (Lugt 1570 b), bearing the handwritten registration number “H 98 I” and the stamp “Not for sale E L Kirchner”. One of to date 14 known copies. On firm wove paper. 50 x 37.5 cm (19.6 x 14.7 in). Sheet: 53 x 41 cm (20,8 x 16,1 in).

• A print depicting the children of F. Ernst Köhler-Haußen (1872–1946), writer, passive member of the “Brücke,” and former collector of Kirchner’s works.
• In the same family collection for nearly 60 years.
• Other copies of this print are held, among others, in the collections of the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main, and the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe.
PROVENANCE: Artist’s estate (stamped on the reverse with the estate stamp).

In good condition, beautiful print image. Very few small brown spots, as well as faint brownish streaks in the upper left corner. The edges of the sheet are trimmed slightly unevenly. The upper two corners of the sheet show faint creases and are slightly bumped. There are a few faint pressure marks along the outer edges of the sheet. Some areas show minimal wear.
