Watercolor and water tempera.
Lower right monogrammed and dated (cropped). On wove paper, laid on cardboard. 48.8 x 66 cm (19.2 x 25.9 in), the full sheet.
• Acquired directly from the artist after it was made and family-owned ever since.
• Christian Rohlfs adds new momentum to modernist flower still life painting.
• Flower still life with effectful colors and an expressive form.
• For the first time on the international art market.
The work is registered in the Christian Rohlfs Archive at Osthaus Museum Hagen with the number CRA 244/23.

Good overall impression. The paper all in all browned and firmly mounted on a backing cardboard. Lower margin with a ca. 5 cm long crimped spot. The sheet trimmed in the lower and right margin. [EH]
