Woodcut.
Signed and titled. One of only two copies from this printing state. On firm wove paper. 30.1 x 24 cm (11.8 x 9.4 in). Sheet: 44 x 34 cm (16,92 x 12,99 in).

• One of only two copies of this printing state.
• Nolde had painted the same motif in oil a year earlier (Urban 744).
• Part of the same private collection for over 30 years.
PROVENANCE: Private collection.
Private collection, Berlin (since 1993, inherited from the above).
LITERATURE: Gustav Schiefler, Christel Mosel, Martin Urban, Emil Nolde – Das graphische Werk, vol. II: Holzschnitte, Lithographien, Hektographien, Cologne 1996, cat. rais. no. H129 II (of IV) with ill. (presumably a different copy).
In good condition. With a slight crease in the lower right corner of the sheet. With a few minor pressure marks in the margins that originate from the making.
