Signed and dated on the reverse. From an edition of 35 copies. 102 x 115.5 cm (40.1 x 45.4 in).
Published by Antony d'Offay Gallery, London, and Marian Goodman Gallery, New York. [AH].

• A bridge between painting and photography: a high-contrast color epic and an abstract, emotional fusion of colors in typical Richter style.
• Other copies of this edition are in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen.
• Drama and Poetics: The title attests to Richter’s engagement with Shakespeare’s play Hamlet.
• Formerly owned by Norbert Arns, who was Gerhard Richter’s long-time assistant.
