Dated, titled, and inscribed with the place of origin on the reverse by another hand, along with the estate stamp (Lugt 1775b), where it is inscribed “TuZ 40” by another hand. With another estate stamp (Lugt 1775b), as well as inscxribed “TuZ 40” by another hand, and other inscriptions by another hand underneath the mount. On smooth paper. 15.5 x 10.5 cm (6.1 x 4.1 in), size of sheet.

August Macke is considered one of the most famous painters of German Expressionism and an important member of the “Blauer Reiter.”
• With just a few strokes, Macke impressively captures this landscape scene on paper.
• Created only a short time before Macke fell in battle in Champagne on September 16, 1914
