Signed and numbered. Signed, dated, and inscribed with the work number “145” on the printing plate. From an edition of 300 copies. On laid paper. 12.4 x 10.2 cm (4.8 x 4 in). Sheet: 26,1 x 16,7 cm (10,2 x 6,5 in).
Based on a watercolor from 1914, published by Goltz-Verlag, Munich, 1920. The print was published on the occasion of the Klee exhibition at Galerie Neue Kunst, Hans Goltz, in May/June 1920 in the special edition “Paul Klee” of the 2nd special issue of “Ararat.” [AW].
• A beautifully colored lithograph based on a watercolor from 1914.
• Printmaking played an important role in Paul Klee’s oeuvre and his development as a painter.
• Other examples are held, among others, at the Lenbachhaus in Munich and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
PROVENANCE: Private collection, Southern Germany (since 1975, Galerie Wolfgang Ketterer; in the family’s possession ever since).

In good condition. Slightly browned overall, with a faint brownish tinge along the outer edge of the page. Two small tears in the center of the right edge, with minimal loss of paper.
