Reclining Figure. 1955/56.
Bronze with brownish patina.
With the artist's thumbprint and signature. With a numbered label below the plinth. 18 x 29.5 x 14 cm (7 x 11.6 x 5.5 in).

• In 1954, the first major retrospective of his work took place at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, and at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
• In 1952, Lipchitz took part in the 26th Venice Biennale, in documenta II (1959) and in documenta III (1964)
• Sculptures and drawings can be found in major collections such as the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, and the Tate Gallery, London.
