With the scratched monogram and the inscription "II" on the right side of the semi-sphere. 8.8 x 30 x 25 cm (3.4 x 11.8 x 9.8 in). Ø semi-sphere: 15 cm (5,9 in).

• “Paolo and Francesca,” the tragic lovers from Dante's “Divine Comedy,” are a recurring theme in König's work.
• The most famous interpretation of this theme can be found in the sculpture park of the Neue Pinakothek in Munich.
• Fritz König's bronzes are in numerous important collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Guggenheim Collection, Venice, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
