On firm brownish paper. 21.2 x 13 cm (8.3 x 5.1 in), the full sheet. [CH].
• Haunting self-portrait by the great expressionist and draughtsman.
• Self-portraits by E. L. Kirchner are rarely offered on the international auction market.
• Unusual, close-up portrait.
• Kirchner composes his portrait from an exciting combination of outlines, hatching and very concise, accurate details.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp Lugt 6032).
