Landschaft bei Hetschburg. 1907.
Oil on canvas.
Lower right monogrammed and dated. 70 x 80 cm (27.5 x 31.4 in).

• From the artist's early work, made at the important transition from a neo-impressionist to an expressionist style.
• Scenery immersed in autumnal colors, that testifies to Rohlf's mastery in landscape painting.
• Celebrated by his contemporaries in Weimar for his plen-air painting, he would become one of the most important expressionist painters in Germany.

In good condition. With unobtrusive craquelure in places, running in lines in the sky and along the left edge. With retouchings, predominantly in the sky and one retouched spot in the center of the image. Isolated small brown spots on the paint layer and a very small hole in the upper right corner.
