Haus am Platz. 1961.
Oil on fibreboard.
Signature and date scratched into the paint. Verso signed, dated and titled as well as inscribed "Holzminden" and with hand-written exhibition information. Stretcher with an address stamp and information on the technique. 66 x 86 cm (25.9 x 33.8 in).

• Rudolf Jahns' works move between figuration and geometric abstraction.
• He is considered a pioneer of German Constructivism.
• In 1927, he co-founded the artists' group "die abstrakten hannover" alongside Kurt Schwitters and Carl Buchheister, among others.
• From the early 1960s, his works were increasingly shown by art associations and museums in solo and group exhibitions and became known to a wider public.
