Akte am Strand. 1919.
Watercolor over pencil.
Lower left monogrammed and dated. On brown wove paper. 34.2 x 43.5 cm (13.4 x 17.1 in), the full sheet.

• Sheet executed in dynamic lines directly in nature.
• Nudes in the landscape were among the central motifs in the great expressionist's repertoire from the "Brücke" period onwards.
• Throughout his life, the artist spent the summer months on his beloved Baltic coast, where he created his most beautiful nude drawings.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Northern Germany (family-owned for two generations).
In good condition. Mounted. Margins sligthly creased. Center of lower margin with a small, superficially rubbed spot. Lower right corner with a slightly browned spot from a mounting on the reverse.
