Erna Dinklages Sohn Karl Gideon beim Frühstück von einer Katze angesprungen. 1927.

Signed in the upper left. 70 x 60 cm (27.5 x 23.6 in). [AW].
• An appealing juxtaposition of two-dimensional painting and spontaneous, momentary gestures.
• One of the few preserved early works by the artist, in which her turn towards New Objectivity becomes evident.
• A rare depiction of a child in German modernist painting.
• Similar to Otto Dix, Erna Dinklage depicts her son's playful and independent world without any embellishment.
• Works by the artist are in possession of renowned museums, including the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, and the Pinakothek der Moderne.

In good condition. Edges slightly rubbed in places and with tiny drycracks. With minor retouches. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
