Signed in the lower left. With a piece of cut out paper inscribed with a dedication by the artist on the reverse of the frame backing board. On Japon. 17.4 x 13.3 cm (6.8 x 5.2 in), the full sheet. [EH].

• Nolde mastered the technique of watercolor painting with consummate skill: works from the 1930s reveal his fully developed style characterized by spontaneous brushwork.

Accompanied by a written certificate issued by the Seebüll Ada and Emil Nolde Foundation on September 23, 2025. The work is registered in the archives of the Seebüll Ada and Emil Nolde Foundation and will be included in the future catalogue raisonné of Emil Nolde's watercolors and drawings.

PROVENANCE: Dr. Ing. Heinrich Eckert Collection, Munich, family-owned ever since.

Rich colors, in good condition. The edges of the sheet are irregularly trimmed all around. The paper is slightly skinned in the corners on the reverse. The sheet has a few small creases.
