• A spontaneous, momentary, particularly dynamic sketch from Kirchner's sought-after Berlin creative period.
• Kirchner studied movement sequences in dance cafés, variety shows, theaters, and circuses, capturing them on paper with bold strokes.
• The motif sketched here can also be found in a similar form in Kirchner's painting “Musikzimmer II” (1915, Sprengel Museum Hanover).
PROVENANCE: Collection/estate of Lise Gujer, Davos-Sertig (until 1970: Kornfeld and Klipstein).
Galerie Nierendorf, Berlin (acquired from the above in 1970, with handwritten notes and a stamp on the reverse).

Spontaneous, dynamic sketch in good condition. A few isolated traces of studio wear. Small tear to the left edge of the sheet. Minimal dark discoloration to the upper left edge of the sheet. The sheet is slightly irregularly faded in the upper two corners.
