Entwurfszeichnungen für Ex Libris (10 Bll.). Um 1909/1911.
Pencil drawings (10), of which 9 with ink pen.
Dated by the artist (1) and also dated by another hand (3). On wove paper, 8 sheets laid on sketchbook paper. Up to 34 x 21.5 cm (13.3 x 8.4 in), size of sheet.
Among others for: Eduard Arnold, Julius Klengel, Ernst Lehmann, Hermann Benedictus Mueller, Max Lehrs, Dr. Kuno Waehmer, Louis Meder. [KA].
• Expressive ex-libris designs for important people and friends of Max Klinger.
• In his designs, the artist addresses themes from antiquity, mythology, and Christianity.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Günther Förg.
In good condition. Slightly creased overall and minimally browned. Some tiny brown spots, some grease stains on the recto side of the mountings.
