• In this piece, Nitsch condenses Jackson Pollock’s “dripping” technique into a painterly performance.
• In the year this work was created, the artist staged his first performance in a permanent theater venue, the Burgtheater in Vienna.
• He participated in the important documenta 5 (1972), curated by Harald Szeemann, as well as in documenta 7 (1982) in Kassel.
• Nitsch is one of the most significant representatives of Viennese Actionism
