Lux 11. 1960-1968.
stainless steelobject on white wooden base with an electric rotating disc.
From an edition of 25 copies. 60 x 60 x 72 cm (23.6 x 23.6 x 28.3 in). Base with rotating disc ca. 29 x 70 cm (11,4 x 27,5 x 27,5 in).

• Nicolas Schöffer is regarded foundinng father of cybernetic art.
• At the end of the 1950s he developed the concept "Luminidynamique" and began the "Lux" series.
• An abstract shadow theater with changing visual effects created through rotation and incidence of light.
• In 1959 and 1964 he participated in the documenta II and III in Kassel and in 1968 in the Venice Biennale.
• His works are at the Center Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
PROVENANCE: Galerie Cuenca, Ulm.
Private collection Baden-Württemberg.
In good condition consistent with its age. The stainless steel object has isolated scratches and fingerprints. The electrically operated turntable is functional but only with a weak drive and skips. The base with soiling, scratches and wear.
