Pencil drawing.
Inscribed "27; Zu 'Orpheus', Blei, 30,5 x 22, unsign. 1947 unverkfl." by Elisabeth Nay-Scheibler on the reverse, as well as with the dedication "Für Stefan in Freundschaft Elisabeth April 80" in the bottom margin. On wove paper. 30.5 x 22 cm (12 x 8.6 in), size of sheet. [MH].

• From the important series of the “Hekate Paintings” - marking the transition from figuration to abstraction.

PROVENANCE: Artist's estate.
Private collection Bavaria (gifted from E. Nay-Scheibler 1980).

In good condition. Two tiny pinholes in the upper margin. The lower sheet with a few brownish water stains and a slightly greasy stain from teh making. Left margin irregular and with a slight crease in the lower corner. The right margin with a handling mark.
