Lot description
Seascape. 2000.
Oil on canvas.
Signed and dated on the reverse. 100 x 150 cm (39.3 x 59 in).
[AR].

• Matthias Meyer's “Seascape” plays with close-ups and distant views, abstract elements and figuration.
• He completed his training at the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf, where he was a master student of Gerhard Richter.
• The artist's works are regularly exhibited in group and solo exhibitions; he was awarded the Ruhr Prize for Art and Science in 2023
.

In good condition. Subtle craquelure in places. Darkened areas in the upper edges visible in ultraviolet light, however, not clearly identifiable as retouching and thus probably conditional of the production process. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of an ultraviolet light and to the best of our knowledge.
