Odalisque au coffret rouge. 1926.
Etching and aquatint in colors.
Signed and numbered. From an edition of 200 copies. On Arches wove paper (with the watermark). 41.7 x 55.4 cm (16.4 x 21.8 in). Sheet: 56 x 75,5 cm (22,04 x 29,52 in).
After the artist's painting of the same name from 1926. [MH].

• Matisse is one of the most important representatives of 20th-century Orientalism.
• Most recently, the Fondation Beyeler, Riehen/Basel, honored the artist with the exhibition “Matisse – Invitation to a Journey” (Sept. 22, 2024 – Jan. 26, 2025).

In good condition. All in al lsightly unevenly discolored, with slight mount staining. Lower sheet margin slightly water-stained. A few handling marks.
