Signed and dated “7.I.1960” on the reverse. Here inscribed with the number “ACK 7190” in the lower right. 47.5 x 30.5 cm (18.7 x 12 in).

• Max Ackermann is one of the great advocates and pioneers of abstract painting in Germany, to which he devoted himself entirely from the 1950s onwards.
• Shortly after the work was created in 1964, the artist was honorary guest at the Villa Massimo in Rome.
• Works by the artist are at the Folkwang Museum, Essen, the Städel Museum, Frankfurt am Main, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen, Munich.

In good condition. Isolated tiny superficial paint losses. The condition report was compiled in daylight with the help of a UV light source and to the best of our knowledge and belief.
