Prow figure. 1952.
Ceramics. White sherd with engobe- and scratch decor, glazed on the inside.
Base inscribed "Edition Picasso", numbered and with the embossing stamps "Madoura Plein Feu" and "Edition Picasso". One of 300 copies. Ca. 23 x 25.5 x 12 cm (9 x 10 x 4.7 in). [AW].

• Picasso, an artistic genius and innovator, adopted traditional pottery techniques, developed them further, and used revolutionary new methods.
