Georg Karl Pfahler
1926 - 2002
Espan. 1981.
Acrylic on canvas.

• Georg Karl Pfahler, together with Günter Fruhtrunk, is one of the most important representatives of Hard Edge in Europe.
• The complex relationship between form, color, and space is at the center of his artistic work.
• Through their implementation in a stencil-like manner and flat-looking, geometric compositions, Pfahler's paintings unfold their immediate effect.

Primarily in the marginal areas with slight rubbing marks and minor retouching. Diagonal pressure mark in the black area at the bottom left. Stretcher frame slightly visible on the recto side. Partially minimal surface rubbing or soiling.
